Infant, junior and primary schools in St Albans


School admissions are managed by Herts County Council. All information is available from Herts Direct.

All schools are registered and regularly inspected by Ofsted. They are judged on the quality and standards of education as follows:

  • Grade 1: Outstanding (exceptionally high quality provision)
  • Grade 2: Good (strong provision)
  • Grade 3: Satisfactory (sound provision)
  • Grade 4: Inadequate (the provision is not good enough)
